Most newer jackets come with YKK zipper, this is a Talon which means it's not new. The style is called the "Bullet" and started to be produced in late 60s & 70s. Talon dominated the market in 40s 60s and 70s.
Problem: The Official Indian Brand made very few motorcycles in the Early 70s. Just one in fact, the 500 Velo. Cobbled together from European parts and only got about 200 out the door with the Indian brand before Flloyd Clyde died and the project died with him. The idea at that time was to stay away from the Harley "Hells Angel" image and promote a more wholesome college man image.
This was the Honda Dream and what not. But that being the case the letterman jacket as a promo would make sense except, Indian only got 200 bikes before it went out of business. Talon zipper says it's 70s..
It might be one of a kind, certainly rare. The Jacket is in excellent condition. Body of jacket is heavy wool and in what I think is perfect condition. The sleeves are made of a yellowish leather on purpose and looks a little dirty?
There is what looks like a. 5 to and inch long cut on one and I got a pic of it. Also a worn spot on the underside of one sleeve again too, a pic. The stretch in the bottom of the body and the ends of the sleeves seems like new and the overall the condition is amazing for a letterman jacket is fantastic and incredible for one that 40 some years old, maybe. This item is in the category "eBay Motors\Parts & Accessories\Apparel, Protective Gear & Merchandise\Motorcycle & Powersports Gear\Motorcycle Jackets".
