If youre looking for a cheap, trashed-out, rode hard and put away wet motorcycle jacket, youll need to look elsewhere. I hate to do it, but I have to liquidate some of my beloved vintage motorcycle jackets to help fund a new hot rod. Best of the bestmany are museum quality. The shop had removed the Buco tag from the red/black checked wool liner and re-attached it on a circular black quilted piece beneath the collar (the original liner beneath the quilted piece is in good condition according to the shop owner, although I have not removed the quilted piece to examineif the look of the original red/black liner is preferred, simply un-stitch and remove the black quilted piece and re-attach the Buco tag).
They then had it mounted on the wall in a display with a handsome asking price. The jacket has been customized with an amazing array of studs and glass jewels, all tastefully and professionally attached.Have been devoted to accessorizing this jacket. The end result is a stunning, unique Buco horsehide jacket.
The jacket is complemented by an incredible studded and jeweled belt, made by the ACE Hotrod Works of Sendai, Japan leather length: approx. The exterior of the belt looks brand new, and the buckle has exceptional and unusual engraved symbols. The pairing of the jacket and belt results in a one of a kind look. This jacket has the third design tag and 100% wool liner in red and black plaid. If you know your vintage motorcycle jackets, you will recognize the collectability of this jacket.
All of my jackets have been treated with Obenaufs Leather Oil (the best conditioner available for vintage leather jackets, in my opinionexpensive, but nothing else comes close). Jacket leather is very pliable and soft.
All zippers and snaps have been cleaned, and function as they should. Double factory chrome bars on each epaulette. Minor color loss on the leather in a few areas. No odors, other than vintage leather. All zippers are original vintage brass Talons.
Original brass zip pulls all around, with studded leather pulls. See the photos for condition.Other than some expected creases and wrinkles, almost no age-related wear to the leather exterior is evident. Noticeable flaws: 1 one pinhead-size hole on middle-back area of interior wool liner; 2 some color loss from wear along the top of collar, front zipper flap, cuff ends and shoulder ends (all can be remedied with dye); 3 a surface scratch/slit on left forearm that does not go through leatherapprox. Just a great piece of Americana. If youre looking to make a statement with a Buco that nobody else has, you will not be disappointed with this killer jacket.
There is not another like it out there. Shoulder seam-to-shoulder seam (across back): 17 3/4. Top of back collar-to-jacket bottom: 24 3/4. Thanks for looking and good luck.
