Vintage NYPD Police Black Horsehide Leather Jacket by Miklos Sas

Handmade 1960s-70s City of New York Police Department (NYPD) patrolman's black horsehide leather jacket, by the leading NYC post-war leather worker, Miklos Sas. Black horsehide leather body is tough and heavy, designed to withstand a knife attack. Heavy duty two-directional steel "Talon" zipper. Adjustable slits at side of waist for easy access to pistol and duty belt, also for comfort when riding a motorcycle. Two eyelets on the chest for patrolman's badge.

Ornamental (non-functioning) epaulettes and chest pocket flaps, with brass-colored buttons showing City of New York insignia - same one on the city seal and flag. Two wide and deep internal pockets with snap closure, plus a useful pen pocket. Jacket can take a zip-in winter fleece liner, but that is not included (I never had it). Condition is very good/excellent with no real problems that I can see. The heavy duty horsehide is like armour and perfect for motorcycle riding, but equally awesome to complete an authentic "rocker" look. The two inner pockets are huge.
