Vintage 1950s 1960s motorcycle police leather jacket coat USA horsehide lined
We offer for your consideration a vintage 1950s early 1960s unbranded leather custom made form fitting, most likely horsehide, black motorcycle jacket. The condition shows a stunning piece of history with a very worn, full of character, needs repairs condition. It shows major fading and discoloration from wear; the leather could use conditioning. It shows major age and character, but in our 20 years of picking we never found another jacket from this era. It shows a fading and wearing of some of the color.
The added age related character is shown in photos. The major blemishes are well documented in photos. The right front pocket zips and unzips easily.
The inside pocket is intact. The left pocket feels stiff, so I did not force.It is missing the tussle pull. The pocket inside is intact with no holes. The collar shows a thumb and a pinky size hole in the dead center top with a 1 loose seam, which is not easily visible.
The two wrist zippers are missing pulls, so I did not try to move. The teeth on the zipper are intact.The right sleeve zipper is attached, but is could use mending for an inch on both sides of the end of the zipper. The right sleeve elbow seam is loose for an inch. The right shoulder seam could use mending for 2. Behind the front zipper, on the tongue, it could use mending for a 2 length on the seam. Along the belt area in the back could use a 2 mending in the center.
For a 2 seam in the right armpit area could use mending. None of the seam mending is noticeable or obvious, and of course it can remain in original condition and look awesome and unparalleled.
It is ready for wear. This garment features a heavy duty easy zip zipper with a bright and untarnished appearance.This is untagged, and it does not show a size, so please check the measurements. The lining is intact and sparkling clean for the age. The waist gussets are intact and from a time when quality mattered and USA made the top design and quality in items like these.
