Up for sale an extremely rare La Rocka BSA Rocker Revenge jacket, the real deal and NO cheap Asian copy. This has to be one of, if not the most, iconic jackets of the 1980's. This jacket is in very nice vintage condition and is sized as an XL but fits like a large.
La Rocka BSA Rocker Revenge jackets are very very very difficult to find, the very few I have run across are sized medium and even though this jacket is labeled a XL it is sized like a modern large. I believe if you wear a medium in modern jackets this jacket will still look good on you.
The jacket is not cheap, I paid a chunk for it years ago, and so if you want it you will have to pay like I did or I will keep. You will be hard pressed to never be able to find another.Jacket is 24" armpit to armpit(faced down flat), arm opening to shoulder seem is 26", waist opening is 19.5 left to right with jacket lying completely flat. Left shoulder arm seam to right shoulder arm seam is 21. Russell Tate(designer of this jacket) and Lloyd Johnson have both looked at this jacket above. This information is from my emails from Russell Tate & later from Lloyd Johnson and this information is not available on the web anywhere as I I can find. Russell Tate worked as a freelance designer for Smash Hits (Carnaby st). Russell handpainted a jacket in Russian for a laugh, Smash Hits put the jacket in the magazine as a filler item. A member at Smash Hits said you should see if Johnson's want any jackets like that.
Russell phoned Lloyd and then went to see him and Lloyd said do some designs. Russell took in 10 designs and Lloyd chose 6, Lloyd then said we'll make up to 50 each of these and see how they go.The backs were screen printed with base colors, then the rest Russell took home and painted in smaller areas of color(like BSA) in his bedroom with enamel paint. Russell then took the jackets back to Lloyd and he had a lady add jewels then they were sown up as complete jackets and put into the shop for sale. We had to get the red lining made/quilted to order and we had so many different items we were making at times it was hard to keep all the balls in the air at once. I asked Russell if these jackets were very expensive at Lloyds Johnson's.
Russell stated "I think 250 pounds". I asked Lloyd how many Rocker Revenge jackets were made and he stated We made 50 at first.. But made more when George Micheal wore one..
He had about 6 of them.. Plus he had tons of the boots as they kept being stolen.. I asked Lloyd Johnson about the very very cool Lords of the New Church J.Acket and what happened to it. I also did a complete gold one for a Japanese customer.. God knows what happened to that one...
Those two jackets are the rarest La Rocka jackets one of each? Lloyd asked me about my jacket Hello! How much did the BSA jacket cost you???? And where was it from which country because I borrowed one from Australia for my Exhibition and I know the guy was going to sell it afterwards.. Just wondered if it was his one.. They seem to be going for anything from.
But George Micheal signed them... The item "BSA Rocker Revenge Vintage motorcycle British George Micheal Cafe Racer Jacket" is in sale since Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
